Dr. Rebecca Maida O.D.
Dr. Maida is Dr. Bennett's eldest daughter, and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. Having always had a passion for working with children, she taught seventh grade math for two years at the Chenery Middle School in Belmont. Her experience in the classroom gave Dr. Maida the opportunity to see firsthand the importance of vision care for young students.
In 2008, Dr. Maida graduated with her doctorate degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, and shortly thereafter joined our practice. At her graduation, Dr. Maida was honored with the 2008 Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy for her distinction in pediatric optometry and binocular vision. During optometry school, Dr. Maida was involved with the student VOSH (Volunteer Optometrists Serving Humanity) group, joining 12 students and professionals in providing care for over 1,000 citizens of the Dominican Republic.
While Dr. Maida enjoys working with younger patients, she is also experienced in working with a broad range of patient populations. Her clinical experience includes training at the VA Hospitals at Brockton and Worcester, The New England Eye Institute, Perkins School for the Blind, The Lahey Clinic, and South Boston Community Health Center.
Dr. Maida lives in Watertown with her husband, Mark and their children Aubrey and Wesley.
