Melanie Macbeth, O.D.
Dr. Melanie Macbeth joined Bennett Family Eye Care in 2004. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She has a wide variety of experience in ocular disease, pediatric optometry, and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Macbeth received her doctorate degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she graduated in the top three percent of her class. Prior to her optometry career, Dr. Macbeth earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Colby College. She spent her junior year of college abroad in Ireland.
One of Dr. Macbeth's special interests is fitting contact lenses, and especially enjoys challenging fits. To accomodate her patients she utilizes a wide variety of lenses, including soft, RGP's, multifocal, astigmatism, hybrid, and scleral lenses. Dr. Macbeth is also a certified fitter of both Paragon CRT and WAVE orthokeratology lenses for corneal reshaping, and has fit numerous children in orthokeratology overnight lenses for myopia control.
Dr. Macbeth is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists, the Orthokeratology Association of America, and The Scleral Lens Education Society.
Dr. Macbeth grew up in Massachusetts, and now lives in Waltham with her husband and two young children. She enjoys swimming, gardening, and being outdoors.
